A luxury expedition yacht will begin sailing around the Galapagos Islands this summer.
In June, travel company andBeyond plans to launch the Galapagos Explorer, a 124-foot yacht that can accommodate up to 12 guests. The ship is currently undergoing extensive renovations of its interior spaces, including its four cabins and two suites.
The company will run two 7-night routes in the east and west regions of the Galapagos, with two expert guides joining each sailing. No matter which itinerary they choose, guests will have ample opportunities for birdwatching, snorkeling, hiking and other land and sea activities.
“We have long believed that the best way to encourage our guests to help protect the world’s wild places is for our skilled guides to help travelers not only fall in love with those places, but also to gain an understanding of the threats that they are facing,” says Joss Kent, the company’s executive chairman and chief executive officer. “This is what we are aiming to do through the introduction of our luxury yacht, where two knowledgeable guides will host just 12 guests, showcasing the wonder and mystery of this exceptional destination.”
