CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is already getting an influx of passengers this year, serving 670,633 last month.
That’s a 6% increase year over year, the airport stated in a press release.
“We are greatly encouraged by the ongoing strength of the Northeast Ohio air travel market,” said Bryant Francis, director of Port Control, in a press release. “There have been numerous air service announcements in recent months, some of which is currently operating with more to debut this spring, allowing for continued upward momentum.”
The numbers follow the trend set last year for Cleveland Hopkins. In 2023, the airport and its airline partners served 9,868,868 passengers, which was a nearly 14% increase from 2022. Cleveland Hopkins said it believes the increase is do in part to service enhancements on existing routes, as well as the addition of new routes.
Francis said the airport expects to surpass 2019’s passenger activity this year. Cleveland Hopkins said it anticipates to serve 10,250,000 passengers in 2024.
