With the mercury soaring high, several states across India have announced summer vacation for schools. In Delhi-NCR, private and government schools have been closed since May 10th, and the vacation will continue until July 1st.

Earlier, considering the intense heat and the well-being of students, school timings were modified in many states. Keeping the students’ health in mind, several states have already declared summer vacations.
Rajasthan:
All government and private schools in Rajasthan have been declared closed for summer vacations. The education department has issued orders to keep schools closed from May 17th to June 30th. Additionally, strict action has been warned against calling children to school under the pretext of extra classes.
Uttar Pradesh:
Schools in Uttar Pradesh will start their summer vacations from May 18th, 2024. According to the calendar prescribed for the academic year 2024-25, summer vacations will last until June 15th in all schools.
However, in primary and upper primary schools, summer vacations will be from May 20th to June 15th. It is important to note that May 19th is a Sunday, followed by Sunday on June 16th, and Eid-ul-Azha (Bakra Eid) on June 17th.
Therefore, schools will reopen on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. During the vacation, students have been asked to be given homework to keep them engaged.
Haryana:
In Haryana, considering the heat, summer vacations can be announced in all government and private schools after May 17th.
