ORLANDO, Fla. – Traffic to Orlando International Airport has reopened after a response by law enforcement on Monday afternoon, according to the airport.

In a release, airport officials said the law enforcement officers were “investigating a call” around 5:15 p.m., though no details were initially provided about what the call entailed.

Road traffic at Terminal B was closed as well as baggage claim and the ticket counters as police investigated.

Passenger Claire Moloczyj, who flew in from Chicago, told News 6 she went to the Disney Store while waiting for baggage.

“They started closing their gates in the store, and they told me that I should keep going further down because it wasn’t safe where we were anymore…” Moloczyj said. “So I decided to walk down to Terminal A, and I’m going to catch a taxi from here back to my apartment.

Investigators later cleared the scene, and road traffic was reopened at the airport, the release says.

Around 9 p.m., investigators announced that the response had been due to “unattended baggage that was deemed suspicious.”

However, no hazards or threats were found, and activity at the airport resumed, investigators added.

No additional information has been provided at this time.
