Agoda‘s latest Return Visitor Ranking reveals that Indian travellers are more likely than ever to revisit their favourite destinations. A whopping 67% of Indian travellers have booked multiple trips to the same location, according to the survey.
Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia topped the list as the most popular destinations for repeat visits, followed by Singapore and France. Adventure seekers made up the largest group of respondents, with 42% citing it as the primary reason for their return trips. Food, arts and culture, and family reunions were also popular motivations. 58% of repeat travellers have visited their favourite destination between 1-3 times in the past decade, making up the largest chunk of repeat visitors. 4% of travellers have even visited their favourite destination ten times or more.
When asked what makes their favourite markets so irresistible, ‘Local Cuisine’, ‘Ease of Travel’, and ‘Affordability’ were all frequently mentioned by Indian travellers. Additionally, three out of ten Indian travellers cited ‘Friendly Locals’ as an important motivator to return.
From an Asia-wide perspective, the survey highlights Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam as the top destinations that Asian travellers can’t get enough of. ‘Ease of Travel’ emerged on top as the key travel motivator, with 44% of Asian travellers listing this as the primary reason for returning to their favourite destinations.
